Italian cuisine is in the spotlight before the end of year celebrations

Zimbabweans, like many other people around the world, enjoy pizza, a meal of Italian origin. Not just pizza but also many other dishes and confections with roots in the Mediterranean country.

Apart from having one of the most famous cuisines in the world, Italy also offers an immense variety of different regional dishes and recipes and some of the best wines enjoyed across the world.

However, Italian cuisine will be the center of attention next week as the world enters the festive season. And Zimbabwe will join the rest of the world in World Italian Food Week, taking place November 22-28 this year.

The week-long event – to be held this year under the theme “Tradition and perspectives of Italian cuisine: raising awareness and improving food sustainability” – is an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with all its diplomatic missions. worldwide. , aiming to promote Italian cuisine and the uniqueness of original Italian ingredients and products.

The Cultural Attaché of the Italian Embassy, ​​Massimo Amadeo, said IndependentXtra that the embassy will organize an event which will take place on November 25th.

“We will offer typical Italian dishes prepared by the Embassy chef accompanied by a selection of Italian wines,” said Amadeo.

He said the event is meant to showcase original Italian cuisine to the world and guests can expect to be served the taste of original Italian cuisine.

This year, in its sixth edition, the week of Italian cuisine offers competitions, conferences, tastings, themed dinners, exhibitions related to cuisine and technical-scientific seminars to promote the authentic Italian food product. .
