A new restaurant is heading to Fredericksburg with strong Italian roots. Palinuro Italian Cuisine is heading to Fredericksburg, but hungry customers will have to wait until 2023 to get Italian dishes, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.

While construction is expected to begin on Halloween, Oct. 31, the restaurant won’t be completed until Feb. 28, according to the filing. The “interior tenant improvements” will cost around $500,000. The 2,500 square foot building is located at 206 N Milam, Suite H, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, according to the filing. Fredericksburg design firm Mustard Design Architects will work on the project.

Palinuro’s Italian cuisine menu includes antipasti, soups, salads, pastas and authentic Italian dishes. The restaurant is named after Palinuro, an “internationally renowned resort town in Italy,” according to the Palinuro Italian Cuisine website.

Palinuro Italian Cuisine is currently located in Katy at 27131 Cinco Ranch Blvd., Katy, TX 77494. The restaurant opened in late 2019, the website says. It is unknown if Katy’s Restaurant is closing and moving to Fredericksburg or if this is the restaurant’s second location.

MySA contacted Palinuro Italian Cuisine for more information about the Fredericksburg restaurant.

Another Fredericksburg business that people will have to wait until 2023 to enjoy is the new Albert Hotel. The 110-room hotel will have a spa, barbecue restaurant and massive 3,600 square feet of event space. The hotel uses four historic town buildings, the White Elephant Saloon, Kiedel Pharmacy, Albertina House and a Sunday House which are located on the grounds.
